GLORIA OLUCHI JOHN - SYNW YOUNG FEMALE WRITER OF THE MONTH - April, 2020.

Gloria Oluchi John is a passionate and indefatigable writer who majors mostly in poetry, prose and essay. Gloria is a native of Ihe in Isialangwa North Local Government Area of Abia State.

She is currently a 200-level student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, where she studies Mass Communication.

A zealous writer, Gloria has written quite a number of poems, short stories and articles, some of which have been published in newspapers, (like National Light Newspaper) and online platforms, like The Nigerian Voice, Zens Pens, Naija Books, Best Naija; Echo Nigeria; Gistmania, among others

Some of her recent titles include: God; Little Vampires; Fire; Free the Girls; Troubled Housewife; Sick;  Ignorant Generations; What Really Are You?; A Poem of Hope; Cohabitation: A Thorn in the Flesh of Undergraduates; Struggles of Mama, among others.

Gloria is an active member of some writers groups and associations in Nigeria, including Society of Young Nigeria Writers (SYNW) Anambra Chapter; Association of Nigeria Authors (ANA) Anambra Chapter, and Zenpens writer's community (ZWN).

Gloria's literary works has done well to place traces of smiles on the face of many. She writes with easy grace and shares an elastic cord of affinity with her pen which she gave the sobriquet  "Tool of Probity ".

The young and ardent Gloria hopes to metamorphose the world into a terrific place with this tool of probity so as to pave a way for the generations to come and enable them thread their young paths in greatness

Ebuka Okeke - SYNW Young Male Writer of the Month - April, 2020.

EBUKA OKEKE - SYNW YOUNG MALE WRITER OF THE MONTH - April, 2020.

Ebuka Okeke is an essayist, speech writer, fiction writer and literary analyst who hails from Enugu Nanka in Orumba North Local Government of Anambra State. He is currently undergoing his undergraduate studies at the Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) Anambra State, where he studies Political Science.

Ebuka, an inquisitive person by nature, is more concerned and writes more about the myriad dynamics and the complexities that materialize from human interactions. 

Most of his works have appeared in the COOU Pharmacy's Journal and Zenpens literary hub.

Ebuka's recent works include: Kitoed; The Rest of Urs; Lamentations; What Pride Means to Me; Solve This, among numerous others, widely published online.

Actively involved in the literary scene of Anambra State, Ebuka is a member of the Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) where in 2019, he received a Certificate of Award for his efforts in promoting and uplifting Literary Arts in Anambra State.

Olaoniye Folasade - SYNW Young Writer for the Month of March 2020

OLAONIYE FOLASADE

SYNW YOUNG WRITER FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH 2020

 

Olaoniye Folasade is a writer, a story teller. She hails from Idere in Ibarapa Central Local Government, Oyo state. She is a legal practitioner. She finished from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile ife.

Folasade loves Yoruba language. She is passionate about all that the language represents. She uses Yoruba as a means to reach the world with message of hope, faith and love. Folasade goes by the name, Atupa Arankaye. The name was given to her after the story she wrote titled "Atupa."

Folasade, who is also Atupa has published many stories on her Facebook page and instagram page, Atupa the light bearer. 

Aside online publications, she has narrated stories at different events. She is passionate about bringing light to the world around her. She is a lover of people, and friend to every kid who comes her path.

Folasade writes for all, even the generation unborn. She passes instructions and valuable lessons in all her stories. All these in an effort to help people in the journey of life.

Folashade is currently a member of the Society of Young Nigerian Writers.

Oyebade Monsurat Adenike - SYNW Young Writer for the Month of March 2020

SYNW YOUNG WRITER FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH 2020

OYEBADE MONSURAT ADENIKE

Oyebade Monsurat Adenike is a poet, fiction writer, who hails from Ikoyin in isokan Local Government Area of osun state. She is currently a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University , where she had her Diploma in Mass Communication and presently pursuing her Bsc degree.

Monsurat is a poet, writers of African culture, facts , most of which have been published in SYNW E-anthologies and other online literary platforms.

Aside the online publications, her work has also appeared in some anthologies, including the Nelson Mandela poetry/ essay anthology which was published in 2014.

Monsurat was been invited to the US embassy in Lagos in 2015 to receive certificate of participation for an essay written on " 2015 Election and Beyond, My Expectations for Nigeria "powered by the Youth Square Nigeria, in which her essay was among the top 10 essays shortlisted.

Her other poems published include: The indispensable, the maiden, Wole Soyinka( written In Yoruba language) , Africa ! You are blessed, the sudden turbulence, among others.

Monsurat is presently a member of Society of Young Nigerian Writers( SYNW) where she holds the position of National Secretary for the Teen female writers’ group known as Young Nigeria Women Writers Forum, a group formed by SYNW aim at honing and developing the writing skills of women writers.

In 2014, Monsurat received a Certificate of Award of Excellence from the Society of Young Nigerian Writers for effort made in an anthology published that year, including certificate of membership.

Her poems are best known for strong impact and cultural appreciation. She adores and preaches her continent through her piece of writing , with a clear view of making it an awesome place for the forth coming generation.

JOHN CHIZOBA VINCENT

John Chizoba Vincent is a writer and a filmmaker. He was born and brought up in Aba and later moved to Lagos where he had his tertiary education. He has published some of his works on allpoetry, Voicesnet, Poetrysoup Poemhunter, Africanwriter, Tuck Magazine, Gaze,naijastories, Praxismagazine, Nairaland, black boy reviews and forthcoming in BrittlePapers. Some of his writings have been featured in many anthologies both home and abroad. He has five published books to his credit which include: Good Mama, Hard times, Letter From Home, For Boys Of Tomorrow. He currently lives in Lagos where he writes.
