Oyebade Monsurat Adenike - SYNW Young Writer for the Month of March 2020



SYNW YOUNG WRITER FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH 2020



OYEBADE MONSURAT ADENIKE

Oyebade Monsurat Adenike is a poet, fiction writer, who hails from Ikoyin in isokan Local Government Area of osun state. She is currently a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University , where she had her Diploma in Mass Communication and presently pursuing her Bsc degree.

Monsurat is a poet, writers of African culture, facts , most of which have been published in SYNW E-anthologies and other online literary platforms.

Aside the online publications, her work has also appeared in some anthologies, including the Nelson Mandela poetry/ essay anthology which was published in 2014.

Monsurat was been invited to the US embassy in Lagos in 2015 to receive certificate of participation for an essay written on " 2015 Election and Beyond, My Expectations for Nigeria "powered by the Youth Square Nigeria, in which her essay was among the top 10 essays shortlisted.

Her other poems published include: The indispensable, the maiden, Wole Soyinka( written In Yoruba language) , Africa ! You are blessed, the sudden turbulence, among others.

Monsurat is presently a member of Society of Young Nigerian Writers( SYNW) where she holds the position of National Secretary for the Teen female writers’ group known as Young Nigeria Women Writers Forum, a group formed by SYNW aim at honing and developing the writing skills of women writers.

In 2014, Monsurat received a Certificate of Award of Excellence from the Society of Young Nigerian Writers for effort made in an anthology published that year, including certificate of membership.
Her poems are best known for strong impact and cultural appreciation. She adores and preaches her continent through her piece of writing , with a clear view of making it an awesome place for the forth coming generation.
