SYNW YOUNG FEMALE WRITER OF THE MONTH

MAUREEN ONYINYE KENNETH

Maureen Onyinye Kenneth is a poet, fiction writer and blogger who hails from Ogwugwuani Agbaja Abatete in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State. She is a student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, where she studies Agricultural Economics and Extension.

Maureen, an ardent burgeoning author writes more of African culture, facts and value, most of which have been published on her personal blog (www. maureenkenneth.com) and other online literary hubs.

Aside the online publications, her work has also appeared in some anthologies, including the Chinua Achebe Poetry/Essay Anthology which was published in 2019.

Her other poems published in 2019 include: Origin, Interest, The Half Life, Not the Type We Need, Ndịda, the Home of the Legend, among others.

A literary enthusiast, Maureen is a member of some writers’ group and associations in Nigeria, including the Poets In Nigeria (PIN) Unizik Writers Association (U.W.A), as well as the Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) where she holds the position of Secretary General at the Anambra State Chapter. She is also a strong member and Administrator at the Global Pan Africanism Network.

In 2019, Maureen received a Certificate of Award from the Society of Young Nigerian Writers for her efforts in promoting and uplifting Literary Arts in Anambra State.

Her poems are best known for their advocacy, strong impact and cultural appreciation. She preaches her continent through her piece of writing, with a clear view of making it an awesome place for the forth coming generations.
